Millions and Millions of Penguins
Chris Beetles Gallery, January - February 2015
As the 2018 artist in resident for Friends of Scott Polar Research Institute, I travelled to the Antarctic Peninsula in late January 2018 on board HMS Protector for a 6 weeks journey. The ship cross-crossed the peninsula and travelled 3500 miles in total encountering many colossal mountains, blue icebergs and millions of penguins. I have now finished 80 paintings depicting the icy landscape and these will be exhibited for the first time at Chris Beetle Gallery in London from 2 April to 20 April 2019.
After making such a large body of work, I wanted to relax and have some fun painting the humorous penguins. They have such funny ways of walking on land I felt they would make a great subject for a small exhibition in Jersey. The exhibition ‘Millions and Millions of Penguins’ will be held at Jane James Studio and Gallery, 20 Commercial Buildings, St Helier, Jersey, JE2 3NB from 15th March to 23 March 2019.
Opening times: Saturdays 10am-5pm, Monday- Friday 12am-5pm. The full selection of penguins can be on viewed and purchased at the gallery or through my website. If you would like more details and invitations to private views to these shows, please feel free to email or call me. 07797759867
